Android’s Parental Controls | Safe Surfing for Kids

Hi, I’m Chris McKenna from Protect Young Eyes. And, in partnership with Worksighted we want to bring you a series of short helpful videos so that you can protect your family from online danger. So, let’s jump right in.
Parents, in your home you might have a collection of devices. Maybe you have both Apple, and Android devices. In this video I wanna focus on Android devices, and some of the parental controls, that come with an Android device.
Recently back in 2017 Google who owns Android, and all of those devices created Family Link. Family Link is a solution that you can put on your child’s Android device in order to control what types of apps they use, what sort of access they have to the Internet, what time of day they’re using the device. You can even control the amount of time that they’re using certain apps. These controls are so important.
Even more exciting is in early 2018 Android extended these Family Link controls to Chromebooks, which are very popular at home, and at school. I hope that this information is helpful for you.
