4 Speakers to Watch at Office 365 Day in Grand Rapids
While Worksighted is known for providing incredible value to our customers, we don’t stop there.
Thanks to our dedication to the community, we also sponsor high-value events that can change lives, in this case the lives of Microsoft Office users.
That’s why we are proud to be a platinum sponsor of The Office 365 Day on Saturday, April 1 at Davenport University’s Sneden Center in Grand Rapids. The free, full-day event helps users of all levels in two important ways: first, they learn from local and industry IT experts, second, they can network with IT professionals and students.
Sessions include training on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and OneNote.
All the speakers at The Office 365 Day are first-class, but here are four speakers and their respective topics, that we are especially excited to catch.
Time is running out – Register for Office 365 day today!
Andy Tabisz – Access & Powerapps
You are not the keynote speaker by accident. Andy Tabisz, a three time Microsoft MVP and co-founder of The Office 360 Day, frequently speaks at user group events across the country including SQL Saturday and SharePoint Saturday. Based in Hudsonville, he’s owned 4 technical companies over the last three decades. We call that a seasoned professional. Tabisz’s most recent business, WorkSmart Database Masters, LLC, creates custom database solutions and apps for clients throughout the U.S.
He’s teaching a nice mix of introductory and advanced classes at The Office 365 Day. His morning session, “Access: When Should I Consider Moving From Excel to Access?” will cover problem Excel sheets and how using Access can make those issues a distant memory. Then Tabisz shifts to “Powerapps: An Introduction to Powerapps,” a helpful overview of how the new Microsoft software helps business professionals use and edit data from your phone or tablet.
Amy Babinchak – Integration & Cloud Security
Royal Oak-based Amy Babinchak is both an information technology expert and a business expert. First, she’s been a Microsoft MVP for 12 years. Tech-savvy. She also runs two companies: Harbor Computer Services, an IT support company for businesses in Southeast Michigan, and Third Tier, a specialized IT support company for IT professionals. Both award-winning enterprises. Simply put, Babinchak is a recognized winner.
It’s no surprise then she’s leading two advanced classes at The Office 365 Day. The first, “Office 365: The Art of Integration – How Do Your Programs Work Together?” tackles how to make the software’s 20 apps work together like a well-oiled machine. Her afternoon session, “Office 365: Protecting Your Data in the Cloud” explains how to protect your information by reviewing email and data security options.
Robert Bogue – SharePoint
An accomplished author, with 25 books of his own and contributions to more than 100 book projects, Robert Bogue is an expert communicator. He also maintains a regular blog about networking, certification to Microsoft applications, and business needs. Besides the written word, Bogue also excels at the spoken word, speaking to thousands across the world each year.
Bogue is kicking off his time with “SharePoint is Sweet: Selected Solutions in SharePoint.” The software offers many solutions, but Bogue plans to highlight his favorites, some of the key features like metadata, search, lists and libraries. Then in “Office 365: 30 Tips in 60 Minutes” discover how to freeze headers in Excel, animate in PowerPoint, record audio notes in OneNote, and turn off notifications in Outlook.
Ed Jaros – Office 365 General
As business continues to shift to the cloud, Ed Jaros is a man on the forefront, a leader in the field of cloud-based technology. He specializes in implementing the technology to improve business efficiency and effectiveness. Action is his middle name. Not really, but you get the point. Jaros, founder of Grand Rapids-based Tenundra Inc., has worked in manufacturing, transportation, logistics, law, healthcare and finance for more 25 years.
Join him in the morning of The Office 365 Day for his only session of the event – “Office 365: What Version is Right for Me?” The Office 365 software has evolved constantly over the years, making it confusing to understand at times. Jaros will zoom out and present the big picture so you are fully aware of what plan you are signing up for. This ensures you aren’t locked into something outside your best interest.
