Engineer Spolight: Jeremy Miller

Sep 14 2015

Welcome to our first feature in the Worksighted Engineer Spotlight series where we give you the chance to learn a little bit more about Worksighted’s amazing Engineering team.

jerName: Jeremy Miller
Role: Field Manager
Time at Worksighted: 2 years

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A: This might sound strange, but as a young kid I didn’t really have any idea. I really liked outdoorsy stuff like hiking and catching frogs and turtles. I probably wanted to be a Beast-man of sorts.

Q: What do you think is the most important quality you need to have for success?

A: I think the most important quality for success is the ability to communicate effectively. Frequent and effective communication in every situation – Work or personal relationships.

Q: What do you value most in a job?

A: I value being able to speak my mind.

Q: What is your most treasured possession?

A: My Gibson Les Paul Classic (guitar)

Q: What is your favorite kind of technology at the moment?

A: Smartphones are incredible. I love being able to look up information on the spot. I love the communication aspect of the device. Even being able to record/demo guitar tracks using the internal microphone. IN-SANE!

Q: What’s your favorite aspect of your job?

A: The people I work with make my entire job.

Q: What do you consider your greatest achievement?

A: I have music on Spotify/iTunes and played in bands for the last 12 years of my life. Things have slowed down now because of life changes, but I’ll be getting back into writing very soon.

Q: Have any “hidden talents”?

A: I don’t think a lot of people know that I’m a musician. I play guitar and sing.

Q: If Worksighted were a TV show, which character – from any sitcom, drama or reality show (of any time period) – would represent you?

I would say that I was Agent Dana Scully from the X-Files. Not because I consider myself a beautiful redhead, but because she approaches each situation questioning the status quo, questioning every theory. I’m a bit of a skeptic which can be a healthy injection into most
