3CX Client Installation

3CX can be installed on your PC, Mac, iPhone, or Android device

Features

  • Place and receive calls from your company phone number
  • See caller ID information for incoming calls and return calls if they didn’t leave you a number. Without the app you only see your company’s main number on your cell phone
  • Quickly call anyone at your company from the integrated contact list
  • Transfer calls to anyone at your company even if you don’t know their extension
  • Receive calls while on the road or working out of the office
  • Voicemails get left in your work voicemail and your email account
  • Use the app on your PC to control your desk phone. Quickly start or transfer calls by typing the number or picking a staff member from the directory
  • Enable or disable DND (Do not disturb) for your extension

Pre-Requisites

To configure the app, you must have a 3CX Welcome email in your company email account.  If you do not have one, you can request it by emailing help@worksighted.com. Please save it for future use if you need to reconfigure the app or install on a new device.

Install on a PC

  • Open the 3CX Welcome email on your computer. This email has a link to install the software and an attachment to configure it. Your voicemail PIN is also listed
  • There is a link to install the software at the bottom of the email
  • After the software is installed, double click the “3cxProv” attachment and choose to open it. It will look like nothing happens while the 3CX application configures
  • Open the app by locating it in the system tray and double-clicking on the 3CX icon
  • There are two modes the app can run in. CTI mode and Softphone mode. CTI mode is the default
In CTI mode, the application controls your desk phone and anything you do happens on the actual phone. If you place a call, it does it on your desk phone. This is useful if you are in the office and want to use it to start calls from the directory or transfer calls in Softphone mode the app acts like an actual phone but running on your computer. You can use your computer speakers and mic, or a headset or headphones.  This works well for working out of the office
 
To change between modes, click the icon right beneath your name and extension status

Install on iPhone

  • Install the 3CX app from Apple App Store and open the app
  • When prompted, allow app to access microphone and send push notifications. If you would like to be able to call contacts from your iPhone using your MarxModa number, allow access to contacts too
  • Find the 3CX welcome email in your company email. It will be from voice@yourcompany.com.  Open the email on your phone, tap the attachment and select “Copy to 3CX” option. This will configure your extension in the app
  • The 3CX app should open and show your name in the upper left corner and look like this
  • You are now ready to use the app. Even if the app isn’t open you will still receive calls. If you do not want calls to come to your mobile device while you are in the office at your desk or at home, you can disable the account.

    To sign out so you don’t get calls to your iPhone, tap “Phone” along bottom of screen, then tap your name in upper left corner. Tap the blue box next to your extension to disable it. Remember that you must enable it again to receive calls.

Install on Android

  • Open Google Play store and search for 3CX. Install and then open the app
  • If prompted, allow app to access microphone and send push notifications
  • Find the 3CX welcome email in your company email. It will be from voice@yourcompany.com.  Open the email on your phone, tap the attachment to open. This will configure your extension in the app
  • The 3CX app should open and show your name in the upper left corner and look like this
  • You are now ready to use the app. Even if the app isn’t open you will still receive calls. If you do not want calls to come to your mobile device while you are in the office at your desk or at home, you can disable the account.

    To sign out so you don’t get calls to your mobile device, tap “Phone” along bottom of screen, then tap your name in upper left corner. Tap the blue box next to your extension to disable it. Remember that you must enable it again to receive calls.
